The Victorian Writer

The Victorian Writer arrived in the mail today and I feel inspired to complete the children's books I've been writing and get then out there for kids to read! I am a compulsive writer and in my paperless office I have hundreds of short stories; children's stories, beginnings of stories, endings for stories, ideas for stories, maps for novels, plays, films, and poems of indulgence - you name it (genre), I've written it.

Why can't I finish a story?

Now that my film is on it's ways to completion and the feeling is so liberating - I have to ask myself why I can't let go of the multifarious tales of children with magic words, princesses with beards, a mother with a difficult child lost in a void post apocalypse, the talking dead body of a pale blue girl in the back of a murders van, a cursed journalist who reports lies that become truths - it's because I would miss them.

These stories are characters inside my head, which are fragment versions of myself; versions I'm not done with yet, that I can't let go of. So, how to I facilitate the growth in myself that lets these stories leave my virtual world and become finally tangible and shared? I'll keep you posted :)
