Always late, but todays excuse...

Always late but today it was 12.30, a record even for me - I realized at 8.45 this morning that my keys were locked in the car and would have to get kids to two different schools some other way; the bike way. Awesome; the kids are so excited, I normally don't ride with them and here's why - takes another half hour to drag bikes passed immobile car and load up with water, helmets and appropriate footwear - my Christmas red stilettos' wouldn't do for riding - so we are riding through the burg, up the Merri Creek trail towards 'school one'; I am barking orders military style as we slow down, speed up, slow down speed up, Quinn falls - and it's a bad one, two cut fingers and knee rippage, he's just recovered from Chicken Pox and is fragile, so he's shaking, uses all the water on wounds, after 15-20 minutes we are able to keep riding, getting later and later. Finally get to the hill the back of the school facing us, and Quinn says 'I'm thirsty'.

Get child one to school at 10.10. Child two and I head off to 'school two', another 20 minutes later he's unlocking the bike shed putting his bike away and I'm heading off to Small Black for well earned pancakes, but Hamish has my bike lock; so I drop into Lygon Cycles and watch an elderly women trawl through some weird catalogue looking for parts she doesn't understand or recognize, however, she may think they are instruments of torture, so that would explain her buying them for the Grandkiddies. Got to Small Block, packed down some pancakes, used the toilet (clean cafe toilets, the reason for favorite cafe status) and powered on home, which means - there was a lot of walking - so nearly there when I bumped into the neighborhood gossip, 'I know you, don't I love?' 'You look different with your helmet on' and other gems punctured our conversation, along with 'I know, I've held you up, but you're learning something' ARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH
Then I got home and downloaded five more episodes of the Vampire Diaries which is absolute crap, but by this stage I'm so traumatized and it's 12.30 midday and time for lunch!
