The Postojna Grotte (Cave) is on the Karst Slovenia and is the home of Proteus anguinus, an eyeless, obviously blind salamander who lives underground and has been a protected creature since the 1930s. The cave is filled with stalagmites (‘growing’ up), and stalactites (‘growing’ down) and tourists, today including us and we dragged Enrico along and enticed him underground. On the way home – and hour and a half drive a very tired and worn out Quinn tantrumed for the ENTIRE time and that was embarrassing and stressful and downright horrid- for him and for us. We are going to have to be a lot stronger with Quinn – without stressing him out too much. Hamish will stay with him tomorrow and I will go by myself to Trieste and shop and check out the museum near San Guisto.
