The naughtiest girl in school

When I was a little girl my mum, who loved to grow the seed of larning in me gave me the trilogy of Enid Blyton's Naughtiest Girl in School - a story about Elizabeth at Whyteleaf School, a boarding school for girls and boys that runs very much like a socialist society. I think this book was one of the reasons I have such a strong passion for social justice and building positive communities.
The story of Elizabeth and her gardening and pony riding and girlhood friendships, was a world that I adored and now I have started to read this wonderful book to Quinn as he is just pre-school now, like Iggy when he was in kinder - I read it to him also, and he has been enjoying the re-read.

I would suggest the reading of Elizabeth to all friends with pre-school age children, it's a great look at how wonderful school can be. It is a delight to hear the boys cry out - 'just one more chapter mum please!'
